Exposure to biological and chemical residue and contaminates can pose serious health consequences for individuals who come into contact with them – from building occupants, employees, and customers. Failing to properly handle and remove such hazardous materials can lead to unhealthy and even dangerous environments.

Your local SERVPRO® Franchise Technicians have been trained to safely and effectively remove biohazardous materials and properly prepared waste in compliance with OSHA, EPA as well as State and Local health regulations.

Biohazard Clean-Up includes, but is not limited to:

  • Bloodborne Pathogens

SERVPRO® Franchise Professionals remove and dispose of bodily fluids, tissue and other potentially pathogenic substances resulting from accident, trauma, crime or death.

  • Methamphetamine Labs

Many of the chemicals used in the production of illegal drugs, such as methamphetamine, are volatile and can leave harmful residues.

  • Crime Scene Residues

From fingerprint powder and evidence-gathering chemicals to teargas and pepper spray residues, your SERVPRO® Professionals can clean and restore your property and contents.

  • Arson and Vandalism

Your local Franchise Professionals can provide general cleaning and deodorization services for situations resulting from vandalism including graffiti, egg, destruction of property, spoiled foods and human or animal waste.

Crew cleaning feces off wall Homelessness Clean Up Done by Our Crews!

Over the past years we have seen a steady incline of homelessness. This has forced folks to live on the streets, without adequate facilities for cleanliness or a restroom. One of our specialties here at SERVPRO is Biohazard removal. Our crews are called out daily to clean up feces from folks defecating on public right of ways as well as businesses buildings. This is a biohazard, and our teams are trained and well protected to handle the cleanup and removal of feces. Outside of feces we often find other biohazards such as needles. We properly handle and discard these needles as they too contain biohazard. We here at SERVPRO have steps that we take to ensure the safety of all. If you are experiencing a biohazard, reach out! We are always here to help!

Yes we are going to talk about it, Biohazard & Suicide Clean Up.

March of 2020 was by far the saddest month we have had here at our SERVPRO Franchise. We had 17 suicide clean ups and too many Covid 19 clean ups to count.

The tragedy of a homicide or suicide is a painful and traumatic experience. It takes a professional remediation company to correctly and properly restore the property to pre loss condition.

Biohazard remediation refers to the removal, cleaning, and disinfection of blood, bodily fluids, and other potentially harmful pathogens in affected areas after a death, accident, or communicable disease outbreak. Due to the possible high exposure risk to bloodborne pathogens, biohazard remediation is a specialty service that requires proper training, equipment and a mindset to help.

Here at SERVPRO our technicians are prepared and trained to handle these tough situations.

If you ever have to deal with such tragedy or are in need of a biohazard clean up, don't think twice about calling SERVPRO.

Axel and Daniel from SERVPRO of Benton/Linn county are demostration how to use Personal Protective Equipment. In this picture is our crew lead Axel and project manager Daniel. They are doing a demonstration on how to put on, and remove PPE.

In SERVPRO of Benton/Linn County’s line of work, we face a lot of jobs that pertain to biohazard, including exposure to blood or bodily fluids. We are here with the tools necessary to clean up situations that normally would not be safe for the average individual.

Our franchise is there to clean up after deaths, sickness, sewage, or accidents, so you don’t have to!

  1. Part of the precautions that we take to keep our techs safe, is proper training, and continuing education; we are never done learning how to be even better at our jobs. This includes weekly meetings where we go over a particular subject, and training's.

Another part to how we keep our techs safe is through proper PPE, also known as “Personal Protective Equipment”.  One of the important requirements for our techs is to have or acknowledge the need for a Hepatitis B vaccination.

For extreme biohazard risk, our techs  will apply a suit, gloves, face mask, and then seal it with tape, to ensure full security from biohazard elements.

At SERVPRO of Benton/Linn County, we always ensure the safety of not just out customers, but our employees too!
